My name is Patrick Milford and I run Milford Design Co – a one-man design studio currently operating out of Quincy, IL.
My career started with carbon copy paper. Yes, really. When I was very young, my dad used to bring home stacks of the white/yellow/pink paper from work and give them to me to draw on. Each sheet was really three sheets and more paper = more drawing. That’s the earliest memory I have of drawing – one of my oldest passions and my gateway to creativity. It all snowballed from there. Countless art camps and high school art classes eventually led to the discovery of graphic design. I graduated with a BFA in graphic design and haven’t looked back.
I’ve been a professional designer for 12 years, with over seven years of agency art direction experience. I learned so much from my time in the agency world but in 2021, I decided to go freelance full-time. Through Milford Design Co, I’m helping clients both small and large with quality creative services that directly impact their business.
I also run a lifestyle brand with my lovely fiancée, Emily: Golden Collective. Inspired by some amazing apparel companies out of St. Louis (my hometown), we decided to join forces and create pieces that highlight the unique charm of Quincy, IL (her hometown). We started this journey in 2023 and have absolutely loved connecting with our community.
